Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. The couple relocated to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five where she attended at the Dragon School. Emma's goal was to be an actor. When she was six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch, where she took classes for acting, singing and dancing. She had already performed in numerous Stagecoach as well as school plays before she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was found by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, director David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's film debut came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The movie beat all previous records on the opening weekend and revenues, and was the top-grossing 2001 film. Critics have praised both the film and the performances by the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards for the movie.
